Edward J. Schloss, MD, FACC

Dr. Schloss is the Director of Electrophysiology for The Christ Hospital. He specializes in electrical issues of the heart and is actively involved in new medical device design and clinical research.

Dr. Schloss completed his medical degree at Northwestern University. He went on to do his postgraduate medical training at the University of Pittsburgh as an intern and resident in internal medicine, and then he stayed for a fellowship in cardiology. He then completed an additional two year fellowship in electrophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He joined Ohio Heart & Vascular Center in 1997.

Electrophysiology has seen many advances and innovations in the last few years. Dr. Schloss has been directly involved in many of these “firsts” in electrophysiology. He implanted the world’s first bipolar transvenous left ventricular pacing lead and also the world’s first pressure sensing implantable cardiac defibrillator. He was named in a peer review as one of the 2007-2008 and 2009-2010 Best Doctors in America®.
